Martial arts belt sizing is influenced by several factors beyond waist size alone. The way the belt is tied, the thickness of the uniform, personal preference for belt hang length, and the wearer’s height can all affect overall fit and appearance.

Our sizing chart uses waist size as a general reference point, though there are two recommended ways to achieve the most accurate fit:

• Order the same size as your current uniform size. This is the most common and straightforward method for most practitioners.
• Measure an existing belt that fits well. Lay the belt flat and measure its total length end-to-end, then compare it to the sizing chart for the closest match.

Some practitioners prefer shorter belt ends for training, while others prefer a longer traditional hang. If you are between sizes, personal preference and uniform thickness should be considered when choosing between the two.
